Choose a plan and pay on the product page (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or crypto). 2. The eSIM QR code arrives by email; install it before you travel (Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Add eSIM). 3. On arrival, select the eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS. Data-only: the eSIM has no phone number. Requires an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked phone. ## Your eSIM for Belgium, Brussels, Bruges and Ghent One plan covers the whole country, so the same eSIM works in Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp - all an easy train ride apart. Install it before you travel, switch off airplane mode on arrival, and you are online for tickets, maps and bookings. ## Getting online at Brussels and Charleroi The eSIM connects automatically when you turn off airplane mode at Brussels (BRU), Brussels South Charleroi (CRL) or Antwerp (ANR). Your train into the centre, the SNCB app and maps are ready the moment you land. ## Coverage across a compact, well-connected country Belgium's networks - Proximus, Orange Belgium and BASE - give dense 4G/5G coverage nationwide. Because the country is small and flat, signal is consistent in the cities, the historic centres and on the trains between them, with few of the rural gaps larger countries see. ## Day trips and onward travel The same eSIM works as you string the cities together by rail - Brussels to Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp in well under an hour each. Belgium is also a gateway to its neighbours; if your trip continues into France, the Netherlands or Germany, consider a Europe regional plan so one eSIM covers them all. ## Brussels by Eurostar: border checks happen in London Most British visitors reach Belgium by train: Eurostar runs city centre to city centre in about two hours. If you go that way, the EU's Entry/Exit System - fingerprints and a photo on your first trip - is done at St Pancras before you leave the UK, not in Brussels. By air, Brussels Airlines and British Airways fly from Heathrow in just over an hour. Belgium is in the Schengen area, so the usual passport rules apply (issued within ten years, valid three months after you leave), and you must carry your passport at all times while there. Declare 10,000 euros or more in cash. The Foreign Office suggests downloading the official 112 BE emergency app (gov.uk, updated 7 October 2026). ## Your UK plan in Belgium Belgium is in every big UK network's Europe zone: included on O2 up to 25GB and on Vodafone plans with Euro Roam or Global Roam, otherwise £2.75 a day on Vodafone, £2.72 on EE and £2 or £2.75 on Three. Sockets are the European two-pin kind, and Belgium is one hour ahead of the UK. ## FAQ ### Does it work on the trains between Brussels, Bruges and Ghent? Yes. You stay online across the rail network connecting the main cities, so the SNCB app, live maps and bookings work throughout your day trips. ### Is coverage good in the historic centres? Yes. Belgium has dense, consistent 4G/5G coverage, so the medieval centres of Bruges and Ghent and the cities are all well covered. ### Can one plan cover Belgium and its neighbours? A Belgium plan covers Belgium. If your trip also takes in France, the Netherlands or Germany, a Europe regional plan lets a single eSIM cover the whole route. ### Where do I do the EU fingerprint check if I take Eurostar to Brussels? At St Pancras International, before you leave the UK: the Foreign Office says Eurostar passengers have their Entry/Exit System details taken at the border there (gov.uk, updated 7 October 2026). --- Source: https://www.esimpass.co.uk/esim/esim-belgium - eSIMpass, Elemento Logico Lda, Portugal - help@esimpass.com
