## How it works

1. Choose a plan and pay on the product page (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or crypto).
2. The eSIM QR code arrives by email; install it before you travel (Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Add eSIM).
3. On arrival, select the eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS.

Data-only: the eSIM has no phone number. Requires an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked phone.

## A UAE eSIM for Dubai and Abu Dhabi from the UK

Emirates flies to Dubai from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow, about seven hours, and Etihad flies Heathrow to Abu Dhabi. Install the eSIM before you go and it connects when you land; it is data only, so your UK number stays on your phone. The UAE uses the same three-pin sockets as the UK, so your chargers work without an adaptor. It is three hours ahead of the UK in British Summer Time and four in winter.

## Entry, medicines and the rules that catch visitors out

British passport holders get a free visitor visa on arrival, valid for up to 90 days in any 180, and need six months' validity on their passport. Check your medication before you pack: you must get approval in advance from the UAE Ministry of Health to bring it in. Swearing and rude gestures are illegal, including online. Healthcare can be refused without insurance or the means to pay, so travel with medical cover. Ambulance is 998 and police 999 (gov.uk, updated 24 July 2026).
