## Plans on sale

No plans are on sale for this destination right now.

## How it works

1. Choose a plan and pay on the product page (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or crypto).
2. The eSIM QR code arrives by email; install it before you travel (Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Add eSIM).
3. On arrival, select the eSIM for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS.

Data-only: the eSIM has no phone number. Requires an eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked phone.

## Your eSIM for Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls and the safari parks

Roaming into Zimbabwe on a home plan is usually very expensive, so a travel eSIM is the sensible way to stay connected around Victoria Falls, Hwange and Harare. Install it before you fly and you land already online.

## Getting online at Harare and Victoria Falls

The eSIM connects when you switch off airplane mode at Harare (HRE) or Victoria Falls (VFA). Maps, your lodge transfer and messaging are ready immediately - useful before you head somewhere with little connectivity.

## Coverage in towns versus the bush

Zimbabwe's networks (Econet, NetOne and Telecel) cover Harare, Bulawayo and the Victoria Falls town area with 4G, and the falls themselves are well served. Out in the safari concessions - Hwange, Mana Pools - coverage is sparse to none, which is part of the appeal; download offline maps and let people know you will be off-grid.

## Your UK phone plan barely works in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is one of the most expensive places to roam on a UK plan. EE charges £16 a day for just 10MB of data, O2's cheapest bolt-on is 100MB for £26, and Three has no roaming service there at all on its pay monthly plans. An eSIM is the practical way to have maps and WhatsApp on a visit home or a safari.

The Foreign Office also notes that Zimbabwe's mobile network is unreliable, so download offline maps and keep important details saved on your phone rather than in the cloud.

## Getting there, and the visa

Air Zimbabwe has restarted direct flights from Gatwick to Harare, operated by Plus Ultra, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Zimbabwe is two hours ahead of the UK in winter and one hour ahead in British Summer Time.

You need a visa, and most visitors buy it on arrival, usually for 30 days - take US dollars in small notes. If you will also see Victoria Falls from the Zambian side, the KAZA Univisa costs 50 US dollars, lasts 30 days and covers Zimbabwe, Zambia and day trips into Botswana. Your passport needs six months' validity from arrival and three blank pages (gov.uk, updated 15 July 2026).

## Cash, plugs and the US dollar limit

US dollars are used for most things, and cash is short: cards cannot always withdraw it, change is rare, and most sellers prefer dollars in cash, so bring small notes. It is illegal to leave Zimbabwe with more than 2,000 US dollars in cash. Sockets are the UK's three-pin type G, so your chargers work as they are.

## FAQ

### Is there coverage at Victoria Falls?

Yes - the town and the falls area are well covered on 4G. Deep in the safari parks like Hwange and Mana Pools, expect little or no signal.

### Why not just use roaming?

Standard roaming into Zimbabwe is typically very expensive. A prepaid travel eSIM gives you predictable costs for the connected parts of your trip.

### Does Three work in Zimbabwe?

Not on Three pay monthly: its destination checker lists no roaming service in Zimbabwe (checked 9 October 2026). EE and O2 roam there, but at £16 for 10MB a day and £26 for 100MB respectively.
