Vodafone Roaming Charges 2026: Zones A-D, Euro Roam and Global Roam
If your Vodafone pay monthly plan started on or after 11 August 2021, roaming in Europe costs £2.75 a day and roaming in the USA, Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, Thailand or Japan costs £8 a day. That applies unless your plan includes Euro Roam or Global Roam. Plans that started before 11 August 2021 still roam in Europe at no extra cost and pay £6 a day further afield. Both daily charges went up on 14 April 2026. Below is each Vodafone zone, the passes, and when a travel eSIM is the cheaper choice.
Prices checked on 8 October 2026 against Vodafone's global roaming page, its out-of-bundle price changes and its extras page. Vodafone raises out-of-bundle charges every April by CPI plus 3.9%.

What Vodafone charges per day
| Your plan | Zone B (Europe) | Zones C and D |
|---|---|---|
| Started on or after 11 August 2021 | £2.75 a day (was £2.57 until 14 April 2026) | £8 a day (was £7.86) |
| Started before 11 August 2021 | No change, included | £6 a day |

European passes
For longer trips in Zone B, a pass is cheaper than paying day by day. Since 12 May 2026:
- 8-day European Roaming pass: £16. Eight days at £2.75 would be £22.
- 15-day European Roaming pass: £21. Fifteen days at £2.75 would be £41.25.
Fair use
Pay monthly roaming is limited to 25GB of data. Above that, Vodafone charges about £3.84 per GB; the same Vodafone page quotes both £3.83 and £3.84. You may also be charged extra if you roam for more than 62 days, or use more data abroad than in the UK, over a four-month period.
Pay as you go
Vodafone pay as you go uses Roaming Extras instead of daily charges:
- 8-day Europe Extra: £13.68 (3GB, 100 minutes, 200 texts)
- 8-day Europe Data Extra: £10.30 (3GB)
- 8-day Around the World Extra: £19.31 (2GB, 100 minutes, 100 texts). The 15-day version is £30.84 (4GB, 200 minutes, 200 texts).
The Around the World list for pay as you go includes the USA, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and Japan. The UAE is not on it, so check Vodafone's roaming charge checker before you go to Dubai on pay as you go.
Is a travel eSIM cheaper than Vodafone roaming?
- Europe on an older plan, or with Euro Roam: keep using Vodafone. Roaming is already included.
- Europe at £2.75 a day: for a week, the 8-day pass at £16 is reasonable value. A Europe eSIM from £2.59 is cheaper if you need a few gigabytes.
- USA or Turkey without Global Roam: a week at £8 a day is £56. An eSIM for the £2.59 USA or £1.76 Turkey costs a fraction of that.
- Dubai, Egypt, Thailand, Japan (Zone D): £8 a day on every plan, so £56 a week. A data eSIM for the £2.91 UAE or £1.75 Japan is much cheaper.

Using a travel eSIM with your Vodafone number
Vodafone's eSIM page says phones can store more than one eSIM profile, and that dual SIM lets you "use two numbers at once". So you can keep your Vodafone line for calls and texts and run your data on a travel eSIM:
- Install the travel eSIM at home before you fly.
- Abroad, choose it as your mobile data line.
- Turn data roaming off on your Vodafone line, so its daily charge isn't triggered by data.
Using your Vodafone line abroad for calls or texts can still bring the daily charge. Vodafone's page doesn't spell out exactly what starts a roaming day, so if you want to be sure of paying nothing, make calls with WhatsApp or another internet app over the eSIM.
Spend Manager
There is no longer a legal limit on what roaming can cost you. The old £45 default cap on data roaming came from EU rules that lapsed in the UK in June 2022, and Ofcom confirmed in 2024 that networks no longer have to apply it. What Ofcom does require, since 1 October 2024, is a free message when your phone connects to a network abroad, telling you the charges and how to limit your spending.
Vodafone's control is Spend Manager. If it is set to £0, you can't roam at all, so check it before you travel.
