Where our UK customers travel

Since July, the eSIMs our UK customers buy most are for Turkey, Morocco and Spain, followed by Tunisia, Italy and Greece. Almost three in ten of those orders come from people who have bought from us before.

Before you go, check whether your UK plan's roaming allowance covers the country you are visiting - networks differ on which countries count. A data eSIM for the country, bought and installed before you fly, means you know the price before you land.

Roaming in Europe since Brexit

The EU's "roam like at home" rules cover the 27 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Ukraine and Moldova - not the UK, since it left the EU. Whether your UK network charges for using data in Spain, Italy or Greece now depends on your network and your tariff, so check yours before you travel.

If it does charge, a data eSIM for the country - or one Europe eSIM for a trip across several - costs the same whichever network you are on at home.

Keep your UK number for calls and bank codes

The eSIM is data-only: your UK SIM stays in your phone, so calls, texts and the one-time codes your bank sends still reach your usual number. Set the eSIM as your mobile data line and turn off data roaming on your UK line, and you will not be charged for data by your UK network.

Questions from UK travellers

Why does checkout open on esimpass.com?+

esimpass.co.uk is the UK edition of esimpass.com. Your order, receipt, account and eSIM are all handled on esimpass.com, priced in pounds, so when you buy or sign in you continue there. It is the same company and the same checkout.

Can I pay in pounds?+

Yes. Prices on esimpass.co.uk are shown in pounds sterling and you pay in pounds at checkout. You can switch to another currency at any time.

When should I install the eSIM?+

Before you leave, while you are on Wi-Fi at home. Data plans start when the eSIM first connects in the country you are visiting, so installing a few days early takes nothing off your plan. Unlimited plans start on the date you choose at checkout.

Why British Travellers Choose eSIMpass

Remember free EU roaming? Neither do we. Here's the next best thing. Actually, it's better.

Quick Setup

Buy your eSIM from anywhere and install it before you travel. Your QR code usually arrives by email within minutes.

4G, and 5G where available

Internet through local mobile networks - usually enough for maps, streaming and video calls. Speed depends on coverage where you are.

No Roaming, No Nasty Surprises

Fixed prepaid price. No coming home from holiday to a phone bill that rivals your council tax.

Wide Network Coverage

Local partner networks in 200+ countries. Coverage is usually best in cities and along main routes, and can thin out in rural and mountain areas.

Keep Your UK Number

Your phone keeps your existing SIM for calls and texts while the eSIM handles data. Your network may charge roaming for calls and texts on your own number.

About eSIMpass

eSIMpass is an online store for travel eSIMs: digital SIM cards that give your phone mobile data in more than 200 countries, with no roaming charges and no physical SIM to swap. Pick a destination and a data plan, pay online, and we email you a QR code. Scanning it installs the eSIM on your phone, usually in about two minutes.

An eSIMpass account is optional. It lets you see the eSIMs you have bought, check how much data is left on each one, and find your past orders. You can sign in with an email link or with your Google account. Signing in with Google shares only your name and email address with us, and we never ask for access to any other Google data.
