iD Mobile Roaming Charges 2026: 50 Free Destinations and Roam Beyond
iD Mobile, run by Currys on Three's network, includes roaming in 50 destinations on every plan, with up to 30GB of data. Switzerland, Turkey and Andorra are not among them. Outside the 50, iD sells Roam Beyond data add-ons, from £5 for 2GB in a day, for the USA, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, Japan and Switzerland, but not for Dubai. Without an add-on, data abroad is charged per megabyte: 30p in the USA, £1.50 in Turkey and £9.60 in Dubai or Japan. Below is the full picture, checked on iD's own pages.

The 50 included destinations
Band 1 (46 destinations): Austria, the Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Réunion, Romania, Saint Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Vatican City.
Band 2 (4 destinations): Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and North Macedonia. Here your allowance covers calls and texts only to the UK or within the same country.
Not included: Switzerland, Turkey and Andorra. Switzerland catches out skiers in particular, because most of the big UK networks include it.
Limits in the 50 destinations
- Up to 30GB of data a month, for customers who joined or upgraded on or after 21 June 2023. The limit doesn't apply in the Republic of Ireland.
- Over your allowance: calls to the UK cost 40p a minute, receiving calls is free, texts cost 14p and data 10p per MB.
Outside the 50: Roam Beyond and pay as you go
Roam Beyond add-ons are data-only:

Data is billed in 1KB steps. At £9.60 per MB, a single 5MB photo upload in Dubai costs £48.
Is a travel eSIM worth it on iD Mobile?
- The 50 included destinations: no. You're covered, up to 30GB.
- Switzerland: a Roam Beyond day is £5. A Switzerland eSIM from £2.59 covers a whole ski week for less.
- USA, Turkey, Japan, Thailand: Roam Beyond's 10GB for 5 days at £20 is reasonable. For a week or more, a 30-day eSIM such as £1.76 for Turkey costs less.
- Dubai: with no add-on and £9.60 per MB, a UAE eSIM from £2.91 is the obvious choice.

Using a travel eSIM alongside iD Mobile
iD Mobile offers eSIM on phone contracts and SIM only, though not yet on tablets and smartwatches. On a dual-SIM phone:
- Install the travel eSIM at home, over Wi-Fi.
- Abroad, choose it for mobile data.
- Turn data roaming off on your iD line. In Dubai, Japan or Morocco this switch is worth £9.60 per megabyte.
iD's £45 data limit
iD Mobile says: "Regardless of your destination, we have a £45 roaming data limit". You can have it removed by contacting iD. It also texts you when your phone connects to a foreign network, and you can opt out of those messages through live chat.
Frequently asked questions
Does iD Mobile include roaming in Switzerland?
No. Switzerland isn't one of iD's 50 included destinations. Roam Beyond add-ons cover it, from £5 for 2GB in a day.
Does iD Mobile work in Turkey?
Yes, but it isn't included. Data costs £1.50 per MB without an add-on, or you can buy Roam Beyond: 2GB for 1 day, £5; 10GB for 5 days, £20.
Can I use Roam Beyond in Dubai?
No. iD doesn't offer Roam Beyond for the UAE. Data there costs £9.60 per MB.
