Three Roaming Charges 2026: Go Roam in Europe and Around the World
What Three charges abroad depends on when your plan started. Before 1 October 2021: no daily charge. Between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025: £2 a day in Europe. On or after 18 December 2025: £2.75 a day in Europe and £8 a day in the USA, Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand or Japan. Pay as you go has no daily charge, but it can't use Turkey, Dubai or Japan at all from a data pack. Below is how Three's Go Roam bands work, what the passes cost, and when a travel eSIM saves money.
Prices checked on 8 October 2026 against Three's Go Roam page, its roaming destinations, the Three Your Way price guide (effective 27 August 2026) and the pay as you go price guide (19 April 2026). Daily charges rise every 1 April by CPI plus 3.9%.
Three's Go Roam bands
Three splits the world into three Go Roam bands, plus "Rest of the World":

Two surprises for UK travellers: Turkey and Andorra are not in Three's Europe band, and Monaco isn't in any Go Roam band. If you cross from Nice into Monaco, Rest of the World rates apply.

* Three's price guides for these customers say £5 for Around the World. Its Go Roam web page says £7. The guides state that they take precedence over the website, so £5 is the figure we show, but check your own price guide.
There is also a lower tariff for 24-month SIM only Lite plans (25GB and 120GB) from 1 June 2025: £2 in Europe, £5 Around the World and £7 Around the World Extra.
Three's Value and Complete plans include either inclusive roaming or Daily Go Roam passes. Lite plans and older Advanced plans don't. The Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man never carry a daily charge.
Three's roaming passes
If you're away for more than a few days, a pass usually costs less than the daily charge:

Three also sells Data Travel Passes:
- Europe: 18GB for 7 days, £16; 40GB for 14 days, £33; unlimited for 1 day, £7.
- Worldwide: 18GB for 7 days, £26; 40GB for 14 days, £54.
The old £7 Data Passport stopped being sold on 14 June 2026.
Fair use
You can use up to 12GB of your data allowance in any Go Roam destination. Above that, Three charges 0.3p per MB (about £3 per GB). Calls and texts are unlimited in Europe, and capped at 3,000 minutes and 5,000 texts in the Around the World bands. If you roam for two complete months in any rolling 12-month period, Three may suspend roaming on your account.
Three pay as you go abroad
Pay as you go has no daily charge. Your data pack works in Go Roam in Europe and Around the World, with its own roaming allowance (for example, 6GB on a £10 pack and 12GB on a £15 pack). Around the World Extra isn't available on pay as you go. That means Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and Japan are charged from credit:
- Turkey, Thailand, Japan: £3 per MB
- Egypt, Morocco, UAE: £6 per MB
At those rates, 100MB of maps in Dubai would cost £600. On Three pay as you go, a travel eSIM isn't really optional for these destinations.
Is a travel eSIM cheaper than Three roaming?
- Europe, plan before October 2021: keep using Three. Go Roam costs you nothing.
- Europe at £2 or £2.75 a day: the 7-day Europe pass at £12 is good value. A Europe eSIM from £2.59 is cheaper still if a few gigabytes is enough.
- USA: a week is £30 on a pass or £56 at £8 a day. A USA eSIM from £2.59 costs far less.
- Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, Thailand, Japan: a 7-day Around the World Extra pass is £42. An eSIM for £1.76 Turkey or £2.49 Thailand is a fraction of that.
Using a travel eSIM with your Three number
Three's eSIM page says eSIMs help you "have more than one number and network on a single device". Three handsets unlock for free. To keep your Three number for calls and texts while your data runs on a travel eSIM:
- Install the travel eSIM at home over Wi-Fi.
- When you arrive, set it as your mobile data line.
- Turn data roaming off on your Three line.
Spend Cap and the £45 limit
The legal £45 roaming cap lapsed in 2022, but Three still applies its own: a worldwide data roaming limit of £45 (excluding VAT) a month. Customer Services can change or remove it. Three's Spend Cap covers daily roaming charges but not passes or add-ons, and changes take up to 7 days to apply. If your cap is set to zero or too low, you may not be able to roam at all.
Frequently asked questions
How much is Three Go Roam in Europe per day?
£2.75 for plans that started on or after 18 December 2025, and £2 for plans that started between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025. Plans that started earlier, and pay as you go, have no daily charge.
Is Turkey in Three's Go Roam in Europe?
No. Turkey is in Go Roam Around the World Extra: £8 a day for newer plans, or £42 for a 7-day pass. On pay as you go it isn't available from your data pack, and data costs £3 per MB.
Does Three charge for roaming in Monaco?
Yes. Monaco isn't in any Go Roam band, so Three's Rest of the World rates apply.
Can I use my Three pay as you go data in Dubai?
No. Dubai is in Around the World Extra, which isn't available on pay as you go. Data from credit costs £6 per MB.
Three pay as you go and leaving Europe?
A data eSIM installs at home and keeps your Three number live for calls, with no per-MB charges.
