VOXI Roaming Charges 2026: Europe Passes and Global Roaming Extras
VOXI, Vodafone's SIM-only brand, includes roaming in just four places: the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway. Everywhere else in Europe you need a European Roaming Pass, from £2.60 for one day or £15 for eight. The USA, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and Japan need a Global Roaming Extra, at £16 for 8 days with 2GB of data. Dubai isn't covered by any VOXI pass, so you pay from credit there. VOXI also says it is changing its roaming destinations, so check its page close to your trip. Below is what each option gives you and where a travel eSIM is cheaper.
Checked on 8 October 2026 against VOXI's roaming destinations page, its European roaming page and its Global Roaming Extras page. VOXI's prices are "valid from 30 May 2025". VOXI's charges page also says "We're making some changes to our roaming destinations"; we couldn't read the details, so the country lists below may change.
Zone A: free, no pass needed
In the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway, VOXI gives you your plan data, or 20GB, whichever is less, plus unlimited calls and texts. In VOXI's words, "you won't need to buy a Roaming Pass."
Europe (Zone B): a Roaming Pass
Zone B is the rest of Europe: the EU, plus Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, the Faroe Islands and Åland, and the Balearics, Canaries, Azores and Madeira. It doesn't include Northern Cyprus.
| European Roaming Pass | Price | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | £2.60 | £2.60 |
| 2 days | £4.80 | £2.40 |
| 8 days | £15 | £1.88 |
| 15 days | £20 | £1.33 |
The pass gives you your plan data, or 20GB, whichever is less, plus unlimited minutes and texts. Three details catch people out:
- The clock starts when you buy the pass, not when you first use it: it "will begin to count down from the date you buy it, not when it's first used." Buy it on the day you travel, not the week before.
- VOXI's unlimited social and video data doesn't apply abroad. Only your plan's ordinary data allowance does.
- Without a pass, you can't use your allowances in Zone B, though you can still receive calls and texts.
If you roam for 62 days or more in four months, and use more abroad than in the UK, VOXI can add fair use charges after a 14-day warning: 3p a minute, 1p a text and £3.13 per GB.
Outside Europe: Global Roaming Extras
| Global Roaming Extra | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| 8 days | £16 | 2GB, 100 minutes, 100 texts |
| 15 days | £26.60 | 4GB, 200 minutes, 200 texts |
The 77 Global Roaming Extra destinations include the USA, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and Japan. The UAE isn't one of them. For Dubai, VOXI's advice is to "top up your VOXI account with credit" and pay as you go.
Is a travel eSIM worth it on VOXI?
- Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland, Norway: no. Roaming is included.
- Europe: an 8-day pass at £15 is fair, and it includes calls and texts. A Europe eSIM from £2.59 is cheaper if you mainly need data.
- USA, Turkey, Japan, Thailand: the 8-day Extra gives you only 2GB for £16. A 30-day 5GB eSIM for £1.76 Turkey or £2.49 Thailand gives you more data for less.
- Dubai: with no VOXI pass, a UAE eSIM from £2.91 is the sensible choice.

Using a travel eSIM alongside VOXI
VOXI supports eSIM, and its help pages note that "some devices allow you to have two separate active mobile numbers on the same device." To keep your VOXI number for calls and texts while your data runs on a travel eSIM:
- Install the travel eSIM at home, over Wi-Fi.
- Abroad, choose it for mobile data.
- Turn data roaming off on your VOXI line.
Frequently asked questions
Is VOXI roaming free in Europe?
Only in the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway. Elsewhere in Europe you need a European Roaming Pass, from £2.60 for one day.
Does VOXI work in Dubai?
No VOXI pass covers the UAE. You can use VOXI there only by paying from credit, so check VOXI's rates first.
When does a VOXI Roaming Pass start?
When you buy it. The days count down from the purchase date, not from when you first use it abroad.
Does VOXI's unlimited social data work abroad?
No. Abroad you use your plan's standard data allowance, or 20GB, whichever is less.
Need more than 2GB outside Europe?
A data eSIM gives you more data than a VOXI Extra, and keeps your VOXI number live for calls.
