Your eSIM for Armenia, Yerevan and beyond
One plan covers the country, so the same eSIM works in Yerevan and out at the monasteries, Lake Sevan and Dilijan. Install it before you travel, switch off airplane mode on arrival, and you are online for transfers, maps and bookings.
Getting online at Yerevan
The eSIM connects automatically when you turn off airplane mode at Yerevan Zvartnots (EVN), the country’s main gateway. Your taxi or transfer into the city, ride app and maps are ready the moment you land.
Coverage in Yerevan and the regions
Armenia's networks - Team (formerly Beeline), Ucom and Viva-MTS - give 4G/LTE across Yerevan and the towns, with 5G appearing in the capital. Coverage is reliable on the main roads and around the popular sights, thinning in the high mountain areas and remote gorges, so download offline maps for those drives.
Monasteries, Lake Sevan and day trips
The same eSIM works on the classic day trips from Yerevan - Garni and Geghard, Khor Virap, Lake Sevan and Dilijan - with good coverage around the sites and on the main routes. Signal can drop in the deeper gorges and high passes between them.
Armenia from the UK: visa-free for half the year
British passport holders can visit Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days a year - the UK is on the Armenian foreign ministry's visa-free list - on a passport valid for the whole stay (gov.uk, updated 1 March 2026). Wizz Air flies direct from Luton to Yerevan, usually on Mondays and Fridays. Armenia is three hours ahead of the UK in British Summer Time and four in winter. Sockets are the European two-pin kind.
The Foreign Office suggests the GG taxi app as a reputable way to get around Yerevan - easier with data from the moment you land. On a UK plan, EE charges £8 a day (£40 a week), Vodafone £8, Three £7, and O2 has no daily pass - bolt-ons from £26 for 100MB.
